Volunteer Code of Conduct
Please ensure that you read and observe this code of conduct to ensure a safe and enjoyable event for everyone.
- Do not travel to the event if you are showing any symptoms of covid-19 as outlined by the NHS
- Leave more time than you normally would to get to and from the event.
- Avoid using public transport to the event where possible.
- Ensure you are aware of your role prior to event day.
- Ensure you know where to meet the Volunteer Co-ordinator for collecting your resources.
- Attend a pre-event briefing (from your team/zone leader).
- Receive verbal instructions on your role(s).
- Please read the full Event Guide to be aware of fine details of the event, especially this year with somany changes.
- Be prepared to bring your own water and food and carry it with you during the race and please disposeof rubbish responsibly.
- We recommend you to bring your own hand sanitizer (minimum 70% alcohol). There will be plenty atthe event but not always accessible in your role.
- Ensure you maintain social distancing of at least 2 metres.
- Encourage participants and other path users to maintain social distancing at all times.
- You must wear PPE as supplied by the organiser (gloves, masks and some are provided with a face visor).
- If you touch an athlete re-sanitise.
- If you remove your gloves, replace with new or sanitize your hands.
- Dispose of all PPE correctly in bins provided.
- When shouting encouragement or instructions to athletes ensure you are wearing your face mask.
- When collecting and returning, Hi Vis, resources etc. please keep to social distancing if in a queue.
- If you experience COVID symptoms soon after the event, then please make this known through thegovernment’s Track & Trace system.
- Report any incidents immediately to your Zone leader in the first instance.
- Please follow the directions given on both event signage and by the event team at all times.
